“Much more than a sightseeing tour”
Kaizi’s Traditional Coconut Oil
It is here that a small family business has grown and developed and where you will have the opportunity to have an “in-person” look at the products and the suggested uses to aid in general health and wellbeing. On arrival you will be introduced to a lush garden of fruits and traditional Island foods, many of which can be eaten with Coconut. Discover the marvels of this fruit including the methods of production, its uses – both topically and in cooking. A question and answer session will follow and time to purchase products for those who wish to.
House of Chia
House of Chia is a quirky little Tea House surrounded by beautiful gardens and an open courtyard, providing a great space to relax and learn about the Chia seed. Grown locally in Mareeba, Chia has a great deal of health benefits. Enjoy a delicious Chia dessert and sample some Chia Tea.
A Love-Lee Quirky Christmas Lunch!
Join Jo Whitton (Quirky Cooking) and Leeandra Norman (Love-Lee Cooking) for a Christmas long lunch featuring locally sourced in season produce. Enjoy a cooking demonstration, and be inspired with some healthy recipes to share with your family this Christmas.
Take a step beyond Organics and discover the world of Biodynamics – a spiritual-ethical-ecological approach to agriculture, food production and nutrition. Witness how the principles and other processes of biodynamics are utilized on the property. Learn about the importance of fermented foods – just as a plant is dependent on good soil biology for good health, our health needs good biology in our gut.
Sunnyville Free Range Pastured Pigs
Our final visit of the day brings us to Sunnyville Free Range Pastured Pigs. Here the emphasis is on the pigs welfare and environment. All Sunnyville pigs are allowed total freedom within large paddocks where they can carry out their natural behaviours such as wallowing, running, playing, digging and farrowing in the large pastured paddocks that are rotationally grazed.
Our circuit then concludes as we travel back to Cairns via the Gillies range, educated, informed and inspired!
